This is Very Personal – The Prayers That I Say – Some I’ve Written – Others, I’ve Rewritten

And The Ones That I’ve Written

Years ago, I was asked by a customer at Whole Foods Market what type of meditation do I do, after she shared with me that she meditates. I used to meet a lot of customers who meditate at Whole Foods. That’s because there is an obvious correlation between being healthy and being holy.

I am always challenged when I am asked how I meditate. Most people who ask this, have been professionally trained or studied a particular method on their own, and can quickly provide their type. I can’t.  I guess I could say mindfulness.  I can’t be specific namely, because my method is a hybrid form of meditation that evolved organically for me, beginning over 30 years ago.

Though I meditate, it is very rare that I would meditate, and not pray also. They go hand and hand for me. There is one exception, one which I experience when I receive acupuncture.  I practice meditation when I receive Acupuncture, but I do not pray in this meditation. In this meditation, I don’t recite an affirmation or say anything. I simply visualize until my senses go beyond the needles, moxibustion, and even an itch.  …or an urge to pee.

Otherwise, I pray even when I call it meditation.

Give It Up For Guest Blogger Wic! – I Am Digging Wic – We Are Vibing Thru Blogging Across The Planet & Never Met! – Wic Believes In Seeking God In Nature & Not Only In “A Book” – I Can Go Along With That

“God is said to have written Scripture and Nature.” – Wic

Kevy’s Comment

I am very excited to feature fellow blogger Wic, and giving him a grand showcasing.

Photo Of Wic

A few weeks ago, I found fellow bloggers with whom I connected in several ways, namely in perspective on life, love, and spirituality, just by reading their posts. I posted comments to several of their posts and asked their permission to feature them on my site.

Wic gave me permission a week ago, but I have been so busy that I had become drained and had to get away from computers, blogging, television, and all things media. Do you ever get that way as a blogger? I hope that Wic appreciates that I was not going to force introducing him to my followers. I just can’t do things normally. My friends from New Orleans says that I always have to “add cayenne” to everything I do.

As I mentioned in a post comment, I no longer hold on to old relationships that don’t vibe with who I am today just because of history or tradition. Many of those relationships were simply held together by kinship, religion, race, or class, but not by spiritual connection. None of these things have anything to do with my true spirit, my true essence, today.

Therefore, in these crucial times, I have abandoned many relationships, including family ones, that do not elevate my spirit. Instead, I find adventure in meeting new kindred spirits randomly, such as Wic’s.

The Spiritual Law of Pure Potentiality From A Black Man – Everything That U Desire Is Already There In The Field of Potentiality – 4 Ways To Connect With It

The Spiritual Law of Pure Potentiality is Deepak Chopra’s first law.  I prefer this law as the last one, though.  This law instructs us on how to manifest our desires.  Its rules are simple to follow.  There are only 4 steps to access the field of potentiality.

But I place this law last because it has been easier for me to achieve after I’ve achieved the other Spiritual Laws (Giving, Karma, Least Effort, Intention & Desire, and Dharma).  Your approach may be different.  I still recommend reading the entire book (The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success), each chapter in order.  Later, you will inevitably refer back to it.  Then, you may read any chapter that you require, in your preferred order, as the time requires.

I blog about this book often.  I do so because it changed my life when spirit was summoning me to change with the seasons.  I have referred to it for over 20 years.  I also share it because I believe that, though many will be skeptical, there are some who will be receptive to reading it.  My hope is that their lives will be changed as mine has been. Poetrimony – Seasons Are In The Air – I’m Melancholy – Marley, MJ, Ms. Bey, Lil Wayne & Others – Know What I’m Feeling In This Moment

Photo – Jeremy Bishop – Unsplash

Today I woke up feeling melancholy again, with Seasons on my mind.

Seasons are always on my mind.  The theme of this blog is Seasons As Our Teacher.  I gained discernment about Seasons from nature.  God’s breath rests comfortably within nature.  Therefore, I spend time in nature to gain God’s understanding.  In a sense, when nature speaks to me, God is speaking to me.

This post is another mashup.  I love doing mashups because they reveal how eclectic and complex, I’ve become.  But my complexity is not of my own doing.  I am complex because of complex times and experiences.  We’re in a complex Season.

We are in a revolution whether you recognize it or deny it.  We are in the midst of the New World Order and must adapt to the Season, just as nature does.

This post features poems related to Seasons and the melancholy spirit that I feel in this moment.  To accentuate my spirit, I’ve selected original poems, and songs from popular artists, who feel or have felt this same sentiment.

My song choices are also eclectic, spanning across eras, years, and perspectives.  These songs were artistically composed when these artists likely felt as I do today.  Kevy Continue reading “Poetrimony – Seasons Are In The Air – I’m Melancholy – Marley, MJ, Ms. Bey, Lil Wayne & Others – Know What I’m Feeling In This Moment”

You May Not Believe in God – But Know That Satan’s At Work, Bigtime! – Secrets on How He Works – The Devil’s Bag of Tricks

I am reposting this article because of an epiphany that I just had in a discussion with a dear minister friend.  In this conversation, I realized that Satan operates from the same bag of tricks.  The tools used against me, as a Black man, by institutional racism, by friends, family, and The Black Community, are universal tools.

As the cliché says, Same Devil, Different day.  Kevy

When I refer to Satan, I don’t think of a red naked man with horns and a pitchfork. That is a fairy tale that I haven’t believed since maybe the age of 5 years. I included such images in this post, only because everyone can relate to these images of evil, as they relate to “images” of Jesus.  I don’t believe in the White image of Jesus either, though pictures of White Jesus and Virgin Mary hang on my wall, left by my dear mother.

I don’t believe that Satan unto himself is of flesh. Satan is simply a spirit, an evil one that wants to separate us from God, and therefore prevent our access to the Kingdom, and to blessings while here on Earth.  He wants to distract us from our beauty and power.  He infiltrates the flesh.  He overcomes the minds of the weak and convinces them that they act on their own accord.  He is cunning and baffling like The Lobster is with coronavirus.  Or, like America treats Blacks.  Or, deception in our families, amongst friends, and humanity.  Satan’s spirit is enmeshed in our destruction of the planet, the once-was paradise that God granted us.  This is where Satan manifested resides today.

Satan doesn’t want us to know how powerful we are through the Holy Spirit. That is why he’s anxious to block our access to God. He (his spirit) wants us to think that he is more than a mere spirit, a thought, an imagining. He wants us to believe that he has power over us.

But he doesn’t, provided we don’t surrender to him. Continue reading “You May Not Believe in God – But Know That Satan’s At Work, Bigtime! – Secrets on How He Works – The Devil’s Bag of Tricks”

Shake Shizzo Up! – Blacks, Minorities, Liberals, Millenials – Vote For Howie Hawkins. Trump, Kanye, Or Not At All – I Am Not Crazy – 11 Good Reasons Why

This is a quick and short post by my standards. …Yeah, right.

I am working through technical issues on my main computer. but luckily have a backup. It has limited functionality, but it’ll work to convey this message:

Shake Shizzo Up – Don’t Be Taken For Granted – Blacks, Minorities, Liberals, Millenials – Vote For Trump, Kanye Or Not At All

I’ve learned to never say never.

I never would have imagined that I would skip my vote in a presidential election, or would vote for Howie Hawkins, The Lobster, or even Kanye West. Now, I am poised to do either as soon as my ballot arrives. I urge Blacks and Minorities especially to do the same. But I also encourage everyone to give Trump a second term. I will explain why later.

By doing so, shizzo may get crazy, but with Trump, we will know what we are dealing with and our efforts will not be deceptively taken for granted; we won’t be disillusioned in yet one more election.

It seems that for Americans to take Racial Inequity and Inequality seriously, they must be slapped upside theirs heads to become unstuck on Stupid.

When you really think about it, Dems, Liberals, Nonprofits, and fake prophets instigate fear, just as The Lobster does. They tell us that our lives depend on voting for Biden, that Democracy will end if The Lobster wins, Social Security will be cut, as well as, healthcare. Maybe they are correct, but so what?

What is of greater relevance to me as a Black man in America is that Black Inequity and Inequality is the lifeline (money line) for outdated Democratic policies, bandaid-applying nonprofits, and strategies that simply appear to heal Blacks, that really just helps “them” justify their existence.

These entities, along with lazy and ignorant Blacks, as well as, White Liberal (racists in disguise) need to feel the fire…the burn. This may be the only thing that gets them off of their ass from following the status quo that has undisputedly been ineffective.

They need their lifelines severed to make them listen to people’s concerns above their own self-interest, grants, foundation money, and comfortable White Privilege. Their problem and concerns must become the same as that of improverished, downtrodden Blacks.

A Trump win will deliver that. Shit will hit the fan, and maybe real revolution and change will occur.

White Liberal Democrats are in denial. They do little, are silent, or believe that Racism is about being nice to minorities. Fcuk being nice. Show us the money!

Coincidently, being this way does not cause them to change anything to secure their privelege, other than to smile at Black people, read Black theme books, watch Black movies, and learn to appreciate rap music. That’s not a costly price for their protection.

White Liberals, if they were sincere to our constitution, God, and their conscience would treat resolving Racism as if they are paying their own unpaid debt. They really are.

They must realize that their privilege today, perpetuates Black oppression. They are deceptive in their inaction and in just thinking and talking racism away, as though they are trying to appear like they are really doing something.

Sense must be knocked into their heads. Problems must knock on their doors. Trump will make that happen if reelected. I want this scenario more than for Biden to win.

Blacks tend to fall into two categories:

  1. Many think that they are letting Jesus handle things. That type of thinking is what has us F’ed up today! It is unfair to Jesus or God, depending on if you think they are different entities. They justify their laziness by making Jesus/God the answer to their inaction. I believe God expects us to use discernment, and judgment to make decisions and perform good deeds, sometimes radical, under His guidance and protection. They think they know God, but still have a lot to learn about their own lack of passion and inaction.
  2. Other Blacks profit from racism. Racism actually has an industry behind it, complete with funding, and grants supporting superficial efforts to address that which is never really addressed. Needless to say, racism never disappears, and they continue to get paid. They are generally paid by big corporate interests who don’t give two fucks about Black plight. They simply want the PR of saying they gave to a Black organization or nonprofits targeting Black plight. Often the “Black” organizations, just need to appear to be helpful, “to get paid”. This mess needs to be dismantled.

The irony of the matter is that most who keep us stuck on stupid are old farts like myself. We shouldn’t even have a dog in this hunt!

We will be dead in 10 – 20 years! Most political leaders at every level will be dead in 10 – 20 years, because, by and large, old people are running shit at the municipal, state and federal levels. Our old asses should follow the lead of Millenials. They are two-thirds of the population and must live in the mess that we allowed to fester.

If U Cared For UR Mother & Now She Is Gone – U Will Like This Post – If U Neglected Her or Conspired To – Go To Hell!

I finished this poem this morning while sitting on the grass in a park, reflecting.  I was Grounding in multiple ways.

I translated the poem in various languages based on website views, by country.   I used Google Translate to convert it from English.  Please let me know if the translation is correct, in any language.

I love my mother very much, in any language.

I wrote the poem in this post on my smartphone so there isn’t much glitz and glamor to offer.

I don’t expect those who were not willing to be caregivers for their mother to understand why 6 years after my mother transcended, I continue to worship her like she is still here.

I certainly don’t expect my fake-faithful siblings, family members, and New Orleans’ Metro non-profit deviously-operated senior agencies to appreciate this post.  This is not for them.  But, there is a slight possibility that one or two may be reflective on their deeds and surrender their sins against their mother (or someone else’s) to God.

They have the freedom to not receive these messages by asking me to not send them my post, or they can just ignore them.  Lately, they’ve said nothing and believe in their imaginary innocence. …for six years now.

This post is for those who really love their mothers, who cared for them in their final days, as I did with honor.  This is for those same beautiful children of God who believe that their mother is still with them, protecting and watching over them.

As for the other losers, who neglected their mother when she was near death, for greed, power, or resentment, or those who were complicit in the sabotage of a frail mother’s well-being, may you enjoy your day in hell.  You will meet a lot of your relatives and friends there.

I am sure that my siblings, family members, and New Orleans agencies that participated in the Terror Against The Caregiver (Me or You) are destined for hell, if not already there on Earth.

I cannot see or talk directly to my mother today.  For that, I have no regrets.  She’s left me with a lot of fond memories.  I can feel her spirit in me, and around me.

I believe that only those who have shown God’s love to their mothers, when they were frail and dying, get to gain such access to their spirit when they become Guardian Angels, as my mother did.  She was born on October 2, 1918, the day of the Feast of the Guardian Angels day

Thanks, Lil Eunice for granting me access to your spirit.  Thanks for your guidance and protection.  Thanks, God for allowing me to access you, through my dear Lil Eunice!

As for the ungodly ones, in my family circle, and outside of it, I hope it pains you, not having such access, but instead, having access to the pain you caused her before she ascended to heaven.

I am not being cruel.  Everyone must pay someday for their deeds, I included.

They too, however, do have access to God, but only in Truth & Surrender to his Truth.  May they open that door, I pray.

…May they change their wicked ways.  Ironically many of my siblings are mothers.  With regard to those for whom this post resonates, I am sure that your caregiving antagonizers are mothers too.  In fact, nearly all of my only siblings that remain on Earth today are mothers.  They all had a mother, a beautifully spiritual and strong one.   Their day of reckoning shall come.

There is nothing that I must do to facilitate their future or present crisis moment.  God has got that covered.  I only need to remain Truthful and Faithful.  That I am.   Continue reading “If U Cared For UR Mother & Now She Is Gone – U Will Like This Post – If U Neglected Her or Conspired To – Go To Hell!”

Deepak Don’t Throw Shade – I Just Gave UR 7 Spiritual Laws Swag! – Kevy’s 1st Law Of Detachment – The Corona Remix – Law On Not Letting Corona Freak U Out

“Action without attachment is the secret to a life without stress” – Deepak Chopra

I hope that Deepak doesn’t hate me for bastardizing the order and interpretation of the original Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.  Today I begin with the first of seven posts, one for each law.

This post is on ‘my first’ law, The Law of Detachment.

I say ‘my first law’ because, this is not Deepak’s first law.  I chose the Law of Detachment first because it highlights a key virtue for enduring through the Coronavirus pandemic.  It is expressed in the quote above, being detached from outcomes, is the key to living a stress-free life.  With regard to the pandemic, we should simply trust God and be unattached to fear and worry about what will happen.  That is the Lord’s job, not ours.  The other six laws are equally important, but not as the first law, in my opinion.

I don’t believe that Deepak will be upset with me bedazzling the principles.  Hating is not his nature.  Besides, in this small life-transforming book Deepak asks readers to share the seven principles with others.  I am doing so now with you.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of SuccessDeepak Chopra’s book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, resonated with me so well that I took heed to each of the laws as I started implementing them in my life over 20 years ago. I was so astonished by these simple laws of living, that I shared the “good news” with everyone who I felt would be receptive.

I’ve given copies of the book in Costa Rica, South Africa, Europe, and other countries, including here in the States. I’ve given the book to friends, family, and complete strangers, in person, and through the blog and on social media.

Needless to say, I am all but evangelically about the message in this less than a 100-page book. Continue reading “Deepak Don’t Throw Shade – I Just Gave UR 7 Spiritual Laws Swag! – Kevy’s 1st Law Of Detachment – The Corona Remix – Law On Not Letting Corona Freak U Out”

Bluesy Praise Gospel Music Of The Canton Spirituals & I’m Not Uneasy About Dem Singing About ‘That Name’ Either

Who would have thought that one of my favorite gospel groups is the Canton Spirituals?  …Sam Cooke and the Soul Stirrers too.

I guess I’m mixed-up that way, raised Catholic, don’t know the bible like my ABC’s, I’m not religious, but I’m spiritual, and I love the Canton Spirituals.  Let me try to explain.

I don’t know which reason prevails in my attraction to the good gospel music of the Canton Spirituals.

I know that since its Southern Gospel it appeals to me, off the back  I am from South Louisiana.  It also appeals to me because the group presents gospel music in a bluesy kind of way.  I get the blues too.  The songs tell stories of trials on Life’s Road and achieving victory through faith. “Love Is Starving For Itself” – It Needs Love Today! – Send URs Right Away – Hate’s Going ‘Round – So Don’t Delay

I believe that God inspired my thought to post about Love today.  I am not being as self-important as this may sound.

Most people do believe that God created the universe.  We may differ on exactly who God is, or if the name is really God, but most of us agree that man did not create the universe.  That is outstanding that most of us can surrender our egos to a higher power.

Most believe that some entity, character, energy, spirit, or vibration created the universe, and therefore created us.

So, if “God” created us, and if we believe in “God”, then we must believe that “God” guides us, inspires us, sends us messages and visions.

God sent me a vision to create this post.  It occurred, as it usually does when I was jogging the other day.  I listened to Stevie Wonder’s album Songs In The Key Of Life.  I was mesmerized by the song Love’s In Need of Love Today.  I was in awe over all of the songs on this album, but especially this song.

“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.” – Lao Tzu

The lyrics and artistry deliver a compelling-needed message, in a most bone-chilling way.  I am sure that God gives Stevie Wonder such visions too.  Stevie said himself, on one of the video performances below the “Love is starving for itself”.  I liked it so much, I used in the title.

Love is starving for attention.  Fear, panic, and uncertainty is causing hate to go ‘round, breaking many hearts.  And, we must stop this, before it’s gone too far!    Continue reading ““Love Is Starving For Itself” – It Needs Love Today! – Send URs Right Away – Hate’s Going ‘Round – So Don’t Delay”

Mothers Are To Be Loved & Honored – They Have A Special Connection With God – How Else Could The Miracle Of Birth Occur?

This is what I call a freehand post. This is why I am posting it so late into the morning.

I am just typing it onto the webpage as thoughts come to mind. I did not have time to prepare for this post because I have been reflecting on my mother so intensely.

I was so focused on saying the right words that I just could not pull it together.

So, here I am on the morning of Mother’s Day, without a clue as to what to say. I am adlibbing y’all.

Mother’s Day, my mother’s birthday, and the day of her passing are always very introspective. I appreciate the beauty of having 3 official days on the calendar to reflect on how much I love my mother, the wisdom she passed on to me, and how much she loves me.

Sometimes I want to be apologetic about the closeness of our relationship, relative to my siblings, but I have nothing to apologize about. I simply loved her very much, and she had unshakable love and trust for me, entrusting me with solely caring for her, in the final 4+ years of her illustrious life.

I know that it is not good to think of mothers having favorites, but I may have been hers. She is certainly “my favorite girl in the world”.

I was her favorite namely because I was given additional pampering as an infant to compensate for my father dying when I was 8 months old. Those early years were formative because they cast an impenetrable bond between us.

Later, I would show my appreciation by treating her like a queen all of my adult life. Eventually, it was as if I was her mother because I cared for her until she transitioned at the ripe age of 96.

People’s Opinions On Life’s Road During Crisis – I’m Talking About ‘Some People’ & ‘Them People’

Kevy Tying To Take A Peaceful Stroll Down Life’s Road

I’ve walked on many of life’s roads which led me through the uptown side of town. I’ve also strolled ‘Backatown‘, tripping over a few street ditches.

“Back of town,” said by many locals as “Backatown,” is a term that asks one to visualize New Orleans as front and back. The “front” would be the streets and neighborhoods directly along the Mississippi River, starting with the Vieux Carré (the Old Square) aka the French Quarter. – Nov 4, 2013 -Go NOLA – Back of Town

I am what New Orleanians refer to as a “river rat“. I grew up two blocks from the Mississippi River. In other words, I lived ‘offa Tchoupitoulas Street’.

Tchoupitoulas Street (CHOP-i-TOO-ləs) is a street in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA that runs through uptown (where I grew up). It is the through street closest to the Mississippi River. Formerly, the street was heavily devoted to river-shipping commerce; but as shipping concerns gravitated to other locations in the latter part of the 20th century, more of the street has been utilized for residential and other business purposes. – Tchoupitoulas Street – Wikipedia

I Got My Government Cheddar! – Moolah, Baby – 10 Healthy Ways To Spend That Cheese & Put UR Intentions Into Motion

“This is about that Cheddar, not about that Feta. Cheddar…the one that comes in slices.” ~ Kevy

I received my cheddar, my stimulus payment this week. I damn near spent it before the ink dried on the check.

cheddar – cheddar= money, riches, wealth, ballin
usually found in rap songs – “He has a fat bank account, drives a BMW or Mercedes, and wears the finest clothes, he has THE CHEDDAR” – JeffFo – September 12, 2006

I am so comfortable with spending money, seemingly frivolously to set my goal and intentions into motion. I have been living vicariously when it comes to fulfilling visions for over 20 years and this approach has served me well, leading to many successes.

You will find several common themes running through my postings, poetry, songs, and writings. With regard to Spending That Government Cheese, the principles are at work here. If you share these principles with me, it will not be difficult to set your plans into motion, using the government stimulus money to do it.

  • Faith
  • Lack of Fear
  • Believing in your vision
  • Investing in you

I repeatedly have tried to convince friends to do the same, but they are so cautious and full of fear, especially during ‘this plague’. They save nearly everything, ‘to see whatz gon happen’. They cannot see the logic in vicariously making dreams manifest. …In taking a leap of faith, knowing that everything will be alright.

This is the only way I live. Faith, Courage, Believing in myself and Trusting. God has a lot to do with this sentiment.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 6:21

SHARE – Kevy’s Back – He’s Been Hanging With Corona Though – Now He’s Separating Wheat From Tares

As you get older, you find that often the wheat, disentangling itself from the chaff, comes out to meet you. – Gwendolyn Brooks

Friends, I am finally returning to Life Seasons As A Teacher, more passionate than ever! I have been on Life’s Road and have become more discerned, strengthened, and corrected. I have been tried many times, but never convicted. I have many stories to share in future posts.

But I must first present content on the matter at hand, Corona.

I am returning with an enemy whom I befriended for a bit. Her name is Corona. She’s left me now, stronger than I was before she came into my life. Corona had to move on from me. She is no longer amused with me and knew that there is a world of more suitable and submissive mates for her. I am a strong man. Maybe that’s why she left me.

I no longer wish Corona in my life, but I appreciate all that she revealed to me about me, and about ‘people’. …about our world. Her most powerful skill is in her ability to separate the wheat from the tares.

I will be sharing with you, what Corona revealed to me in the next several posts.

And U! And U! You Will Respect Me! – 7 Days 7+ Quotes – On Respect

Less than a month ago, on January 5, 2019, I celebrated my 59th birthday.  I celebrated it alone because I chose to.  I rarely drink and don’t like bars, so that was out of the question.  Every time I drink, usually one drink, I just get cranky and sleepy.  And, I can feel even the slightest effect on my body.  I just don’t feel balanced the next morning.

I can’t remember how the weather was, but I don’t drive when there is snow or ice on the road.  I thought I’d just stay home instead.

Don’t go feeling sorry for me, though.  It was by choice and by the circumstance that I was alone on my birthday.   I just don’t vibrate the way I used to.  In the past, I would have partied hardy.

But in a spur of the moment, I treated myself to a Mexican feast.  I didn’t have to drive far because the restaurant is located virtually across the street.  When the staff got word that it was my birthday, they sent me a Margarita and a shot of tequila.  I ate well and drank both drinks.  I left joyful and tipsy.  It was a great night, nonetheless!

All week I had a burning desire to write about Respect and had planned to do it that night.  But by the time I got home, at about 8 pm, I could not write.  My head was not there.  It was a very funny thought of me even trying to because lately, I have been dictating my posts through a new Blue microphone that I recently purchased for video audio narrating, and maybe later for podcasts.

The way that I felt that night, this story would have come out all wrong.  The AI in Microsoft Word’s dictation functionality was not developed for slurred speech.  So, I put this post on the shelf.

Then before I knew it, about a month flew by.  I was inundated with tasks related to school scholarships, writing, attending workshops, copyediting, and feeling deeper that I needed a change in my life.  I felt that a major change was to occur in 2019.  I didn’t think hard enough to know exactly how, but I knew that it would.  I still don’t know how. Law of Pure Potentiality – Kevy’s Experience In The Field of Pure Potentiality – Fighting The Gravity Of Life – Part 2

“The experience the Self or “self-referral”, means that our internal reference point is our own spirit, and not the objects of our experience. – Deepak Chopra – Washington Post

7 Laws of Spiritual SuccessThe spiritual Law of Pure Potentiality requires that we reach our essential state of pure consciousness.  The field of pure potentiality is an abundant spiritual influence, and in our essential state, we become our spiritual selves and are therefore granted access to God’s horn of plenty.

The law of Pure Potentiality recognizes that there is one divine spirit that connects us all, including nature, in spite of our seemingly infinite diversity. The only thing that separates us from the field is not knowing or experiencing our true nature, not embracing God in us all.

Discovering our soul should be our greatest desire for in this discovery, we are granted access to healing, wisdom, virtue, and many blessings, in the field of pure potentiality.

Experiencing and knowing our true self is critical to the law.  Our reference point must be on our own spirit, not anything external to us.  This is important because it requires relinquishing control from our egos, and seeking God within us.  This lens connects us to the God of the universe.

This means that our life experiences should never be influenced by objects outside the Self, such situations, circumstances, people, and things, seeking approval of others, or response to our every action.  Living this way fear-based.  Living in fear never has beneficial consequences.  Living in fear is like living without trusting God.

In self-referral, we become unfearful of any challenge, have respect for all people, but feel beneath no one. Self-power is therefore true power.  Power based on object-referral (external things), however, is false power.

Self-power is eternal because it is based on the knowledge of the Self.  It will draw people to you, as well as the things that you desire. It magnetizes people, situations, and circumstances to support your desires.

“This is also called support from the laws of nature. It is the support of divinity; it is the support that comes from being in the state of grace. Your power is such that you enjoy a bond with people, and people enjoy a bond with you. Your power is that of bonding – a bonding that comes from true love.” – Deepak Chopra

I held off for some time before completing the series on The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, a life-changing book by Deepak Chopra that I first read about 20 years ago.  This book is my favorite spiritual guidance go-to!  I have read it several times and have distributed copies to people around the world.  I can say that I strive to live by each of the seven principles in this book. “You are what your deep, driving desire is. As your desire is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.” – Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

Today I am moved to complete the series of posts on Deepak Chopra’s magnificent 82-page book, entitled The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, climaxing with my interpretation of the Law of Pure Potentiality.

I am both so moved by this principle that I have more content than I can share in one post.  I, therefore, have divided the post on The Spiritual Law of Pure Potentiality into two parts.

The posts will complete my discussion of The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.  Just as I have reread Deepak’s book for many years, I have no doubt that I will revisit these laws in future posts.  Outside of being an honor student in ‘the school of hard knocks’, reading this book had the greatest positive impact on my spiritual growth and self-actualization.

I highly recommend that you read or reread this book!

9 Characteristics of Self-Actualized People – By Kendra Cherry – Updated November 27, 2018

In psychology, self-actualization is achieved when you’re able to reach your full potential. Being truly self-actualized is considered the exception rather than the rule since most people are working to meet more pressing needs.

  1. They Have Peak Experiences – They Have feelings of limitless horizons

  3. They Are Realistic
  4. They Tend to Be Problem-Centered – They are motivated by a strong sense of personal ethics and responsibility.
  5. The Self-Actualized Person Is Autonomous – They don’t conform to other people’s ideas of happiness or contentment
  6. They Enjoy Solitude and Privacy – Taking time to themselves is essential for their personal discovery and cultivating their potential.
  7. They Have a Philosophical Sense of Humor – They have a thoughtful sense of humor.

Justin7LawsI have been writing and speaking about the truths described in this book for about 20 years.  I passionately embrace its spiritual philosophy and strive to live closer to embodying perfection in it every day.

Here is a photo of the inside cover of my tattered version of the book.  This copy was meant for my nephew who was in jail at the time, and who had repeatedly made bad decisions.  He was in his 20’s at the time.

I remember explaining the principles to him, but I guess I forgot to give him the book.  I found it one day when packing to relocate, either from San Antonio, Texas to New Orleans, Louisiana or from New Orleans to Denver, Colorado.

Just as sincerely as I intended to present this book to him, I now present it to you with the same message, typed below.

But I will only break down my interpretation of this spiritual law after explaining my process for writing poems, songs, stories, or posts.  Armed with an understanding of my creative process, my words may become more vivid to you.

“If you read this book very carefully, word by word, and read it until you understand it, your life can be changed positively, forever.  Try to be open and receptive to the message.  It will begin the transformation process.  You can do this!  Just choose to turn your life around!” – Luv Kevy

You May Not Believe In God – But Know That Satan Is Among Us – Secrets On How He Works – THE DEVIL’S SECRETS RECAP!

When I refer to Satan, I don’t think of a red naked man with horns and a pitchfork. That is a fairy tale that I haven’t believed since maybe the age of 5 years.

I don’t believe that Satan unto himself is of flesh. Satan is simply a spirit, an evil one that wants to separate us from God, and therefore prevent our access to the Kingdom, and to blessings while here on Earth.  He infiltrates the flesh.  He overcomes the minds of the weak and convinces them that they act on their own accord.

Satan doesn’t want us to know how powerful we are through the Holy Spirit. That’s why he’s anxious to block our access to God. He (his spirit) wants us to think that he is more than a mere spirit, a thought, an imagining. He wants us to believe that he has power over us.

But, he doesn’t, provided we don’t surrender to him.

Though Satan is powerless, he is still highly successful in inflicting evil. That is because he must transform into human form so that he becomes more relatable and likable to us. Satan is so successful because he cunningly gets a hold of those closest to us. He also cleverly uses various lures to entice us into his web.

Because we are unknowingly hypnotized like a zombie, he easily appears in the people around us, and manipulates us, if we fall for it. Under his baffling spell, we are decoyed, and oblivious, because we are only alerted by the image of Satan with a pitchfork, that’s been burned in our minds.

But, that clever dude, in disguise, congenially sits at our dinner table, in our homes, at our jobs, in our communities in the form of friends, family, bosses, clergy, politicians, neighbors, and even loved ones. His spirit appears in a form that is anything but the deceptive ‘red devil’ we’ve come to look out for.

When I hear people say that Satan is real, or that Satan is walking the face of the Earth, I interpret that to mean that he has infiltrated the minds of people surrounding and interacting with us.  I don’t know if it’s just me, but he seems to have shown tremendous success in recent years.

So when I state with conviction that ‘Satan walks the face of the Earth’, now you know what I mean.

When I refer to Satan, I don’t think of a red naked man with horns and a pitchfork. I think of the people around me, and observe them and their deeds very carefully.

The Spiritual Law Of Detachment – Is Not Detachment From Life – You’re Just Detached from Outcomes

“In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty . . . in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning.

And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe.” – Deepak Chopra

7 Laws of Spiritual Success

Please keep in mind, as you read my posts, that I only share those things that I sincerely believe in, and/or practice. Some posts on life virtues, spirituality, and health are topics on which I believe and plan to practice or am getting better at practicing.

In every case, what I post, relates to my life as Kevy Michaels. I have practiced the Law of Detachment for over 20 years and passionately believe in it.

Deepak Chopra’s book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, resonated with me so well that I took heed to each of the laws as I started implementing them in my life over 20 years ago. I was so astonished by these simple laws of living, that I shared the “good news” with everyone who I felt would be receptive.

I’ve given a copy of the book in Costa Rica, South Africa, Europe, and many other countries, including here in the states. I’ve given the book to friends, family, and complete strangers.

Needless to say, I am all but evangelically about the messages contained in this short 100-page or so book.

I share it with you now because I care, and I am of a loving and generous nature. I will share these principles until the day that I leave this earth, with the hope that some or all of the laws will resonate with you, and perhaps lead you towards your spiritual transformation.

Please note that The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success is not the kind of book you read once, and ‘get it’. It will take reading it multiple times, over many years to come. I have read it umpteen times. I just read the chapter on Detachment twice, in preparation for this post.

The Law of Detachment is very powerful! It simply states that with good intentions and desires, we should pursue our dreams, but must be detached from the outcome.

This law requires the ultimate in trust. ….Trusting God to deliver the rest.

I know that this law works, as I have experienced many examples in my life.

Karma Is Not An Eye-For-An-Eye Girl, She’s Considerate, and Much Deeper Than That

The Spiritual Law of Karma

I believe in Karma.

“I see the law of Karma the way I look at banking.  I make as many deposits as possible, and few withdrawals from the Karmic Bank.  Eventually, my balance increases, and I’m paid with dividends and interest.” – Kevy Michaels

I choose to believe in it because this belief steers my life’s journey in a divine direction.

It reminds me that there is an effect to every cause, consequences to every action.

Without this God-driven gauge, in some variation, I would always do whatever my egos tell me to, without regard.  Navigating towards divine wisdom is not a good job for my ego.

I explained how I found a better job for my ego, in the post Unemployment’s Low! – Even My Ego Has A Job Now!

The law of Karma is a better navigator for my life because Karma is driven by my soul, which naturally gravitates toward divine spirit.  The links and videos will explain this statement below.

For now, try to embrace the concept of Karma is being a divinely guided mechanism that corrects our lives.

Many people believe in Karma, but most don’t fully understand the concept, like me, until I did an analysis of this spiritual law, using various sources for guidance.

I will attempt to present nuanced differences in how most people generally regard Karma, and what I found, and believe to be true today, after having done my analysis on the topic.  I’ve provided a good bit of links for you to dig deeper. Just 5 Steps Will Guide You to Your Intentions & Desires

Identify What You Want, Why, then Release It

The Law of Intention and Desire is one of Deepak Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws that resonated with me, more than I had realized, until I read and researched it, in preparation for this post.

For those of you who have read the book, you may realize that I have not been following the order in which the seven laws are presented. This is intentional.

Though I agree with the order of the laws as presented, especially with the first one being The Law of Pure Potentiality¸ I post in accordance with where my reflections, prayer, and meditations lead me, on that day. This may cause a bit of confusion, when one law builds on another, on which I have not covered. I intentionally try to buffer this from happening, by breaking the laws down into, hopefully, easy to understand elements. When appropriate, I also relate to applying or not applying the law to my real-life experiences.

Most people who have read the Seven Spiritual Laws likely read it the first time in order, and many subsequent times, out of order based on what moved them. I read this book for the first time over 20 years ago and have read it, and passed it out, around the world, many times.

Though I will cover all of the laws, in my chosen order, here is the order in which they are presented in Deepak’s book:

  1. Pure Potentiality
  2. Giving
  3. Karma or Cause and Effect
  4. Least Effort
  5. Intention & Desire
  6. Detachment
  7. Dharma or Purpose in Life

This post focuses on the Law of Intention and Desire.

The Spiritual Law of Giving and Receiving

7 Laws of Spiritual Success

The Law of Giving and Receiving is one of Deepak Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws that resonates with me most. It resonated with me so deeply some 20 years ago when I read his book because I thought of all spiritual practices, I surely had this one correct. I freely gave for most of my life. I remember giving gifts to my teacher in the third grade, and to a girl in the neighborhood, Cheryl Neal, just because giving felt good, and the smile that I received in return was priceless.

There could be no possible way that I had this law wrong because I was the type of person who would give the shirt off of my back. In the late 1990s to the early 2000’s, during the Y2K scam, I came into vast amounts of money, working as a traveling systems consultant, a road warrior. Since I had little social time, I ‘did it up’ on the weekends.

All of the friends around me seemed to wait for my return anxiously, for they knew that I was a free giver, and I had money. During this period, though I made a few million dollars. I would use my debit card, and had over $ 50 K in only one of my checking accounts! In spite, I didn’t have much to show for it. I paid for others’ international trips, cars, extravagant gifts, concerts, loans, you name it.

I did not really give with expectation. Well, at least I thought I didn’t. I just gave to be nice. I really didn’t need all that money.  But in reality, I had this entire law all wrong.

I gave mainly because I wanted others to like me. I wanted my family to love me. So, I kept priming the pump. It got me into trouble, though.

In an effort to prove, ‘that I didn’t forget where I came from’, I supplied and funded what friends desired so that my weekends were not empty. That would ultimately lead to me being the one to buy the drugs, weed, coke, and alcohol.  I was giving, with the intent of gaining acceptance.  It destroyed a season in my life until I got wise to the Law of Giving and Receiving. That was over 15 years ago.

Ironically, the same people, including family, who betrayed me or turned their backs on me in the end, when I was either sick or experiencing trials, were the same ones to whom I gave to so generously. That really hurt, and it caused me to go to the other extreme of becoming reclusive, and less trusting for a period.  I am still pretty cautious in that regard.

Though I thought I gave without expectation, I was expecting something… acceptance and love. Sometimes, I expected praise or an expression of gratitude for being so generous but didn’t even receive a thank you.

The exception was with my mother, and with God. I gave to her and God, expecting nothing in return. In both cases, I felt as though I had already received their blessings and that I was actually repaying them. I guess that’s why in these scenarios, I received so much more in return, mainly wisdom and knowledge, and this minor thing call transformation.

The biggest part of my thinking about the Law of Giving and Receiving that I had incorrect, was believing that Giving and Receiving are separate acts. They are not separate, and the law only works if you do both. I gave freely, but, I thought it was kind to not receive, gracious even. But I was breaking this law, and stunting my flow. I didn’t realize this like most people probably don’t.

In one of the articles below, it refers to Giving and Receiving as depending on each other. They are both seasons, within the same flow of spiritual energy. I find this to be true.  So, I knew that I had to humble myself to receive, while still generously giving.

The post went further to state that there is no receiving, only giving, for when one gives to another, the receiver gives a proper place or use for the gift given. Both parties are actually giving.  That’s an interesting way to look at it.

When I gave service to my mother as her sole caregiver, I did it right. By that time I was quite familiar with the law. I gave everything to her or up for her, without expectation: money, investments, business, credit, reputation, health, and peace of mind (battling my siblings), and I did not worry about the consequences. And, I received royally, gaining discernment on every virtue that I believe God admires.

In return, I was spiritually transformed, bestowed with priceless gifts.

Today, I keep Giving and Receiving united, practicing the law as I believe God desires. But I still recognize those who are like I once was or worse off.  Most people are Givers or Takers, but not both. Either can be disappointing.

So, what I now do, is take personalities out of the picture. Whoever I give to, I regard it as giving to God, giving to the universe, or as making a Karmic Deposit.

I see our deeds as either deposits or withdrawals from a Karmic or Spiritual bank.  I try to make deposits into this figurative bank account every day.  I rarely make withdrawals, but I am paid dividends and interests unexpectedly, usually when I need it most.  God is the comptroller of the Karmic Bank and decides when I Receive blessings.

I don’t give with expectation of any specific gift in return anymore.  I know that in doing so, I am in tune with all of the universe. I am part of the same exchange that nature participates in, as with the different cycles of weather, seasons, day and night, and all things that God has created.

Therefore, outside of the individuals or personalities involved in this exchange, I focus on what I Give and Receive from God and the universe, and know that according to law, it will be returned to me, ‘blessed and multiplied’.

  • One should not be separated from the other.
  • There are 3 types of givers
  • Ask yourself, why I give to others to find out your type.
  • Always ask yourself, what I can give to others. Then watch carefully what you receive

The nature of Giving and Receiving – Metaphysics-for-Life.com

Like the symbol for infinity, giving and receiving are actually one thing with polarized or dualistic aspects. When you look at the symbol for infinity, and imagine energy flowing through it from one side to the other and back again, which side can you say is the giver? Which side is the receiver?

The answer is – they both are!

Giving cannot occur without a receiver. Receiving, therefore, is actually an act of giving. Receiving gives the act of giving someplace to go.

In truth, only giving exists. In the physical Universe, where we experience the illusion of separation, it appears that one person can give an object, such as money, and receive something in exchange, such as clothing or food.

If you examine this “exchange” closely, you will notice that the only action that occurs is giving. One gives money, and the other gives the money someplace to go. The other gives food or clothing, and the other gives the food and clothes someplace to go.

The need for exchange is created by the mind which believes the illusion of separation.

Giving & Receiving Verses from Virtually Every Faith – World Scripture – GIVING AND RECEIVING – Unification.Net

Passages in this section express the general spiritual principle of giving and receiving. When we give to one another, freely and without conditions, sharing our blessings with others and bearing each other’s burdens, the giving multiplies and we receive far more than what was given. Even when there is no immediate prospect of return, Heaven keeps accounts of giving, and in the end blessing will return to the giver, multiplied manyfold. We must give first; to expect to receive without having given is to violate the universal law. On the other hand, giving in order to receive–with strings attached, with the intention of currying favor, or in order to make a name for oneself–is condemned. See also The Golden Rule, pp. 172-74.

“Those who act kindly in this world will have kindness.” – Islam. Qur’an 39.10

“One must pour cold water on the ground before he can tread on soft soil.” – African Traditional Religions. Yoruba Proverb (Nigeria)

“Giving simply because it is right to give, without thought of return, at a proper time, in proper circumstances, and to a worthy person, is enlightened giving. Giving with regrets or in the expectation of receiving some favor or of getting something in return, is selfish giving.” – Hinduism. Bhagavad Gita 17.20-21

Poem

Give You

By Kevy Michaels

I could give you a new car

But eventually it will break down

I could adorn you like royalty

But the stones may fall from your crown

I could give you a cute puppy

But he may have to be put to sleep

What about a flat-screen TV?

Nowadays I can get ‘em cheap

I’d rather give the most valuable gift

That I could ever give to you

You will never have to fix it

It’ll always shine and remain like new

It will forever be with you

…Even after I’m gone

Anybody can give those other things

What I’m offer you, though, I offer alone

Even if I gave you a bunch of money

You and the money will surely part

So I’ll give a gift that will never leave you

The energy of Love

That’s coming straight from

My Heart
