The Spiritual Law of Pure Potentiality From A Black Man – Everything That U Desire Is Already There In The Field of Potentiality – 4 Ways To Connect With It

The Spiritual Law of Pure Potentiality is Deepak Chopra’s first law.  I prefer this law as the last one, though.  This law instructs us on how to manifest our desires.  Its rules are simple to follow.  There are only 4 steps to access the field of potentiality.

But I place this law last because it has been easier for me to achieve after I’ve achieved the other Spiritual Laws (Giving, Karma, Least Effort, Intention & Desire, and Dharma).  Your approach may be different.  I still recommend reading the entire book (The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success), each chapter in order.  Later, you will inevitably refer back to it.  Then, you may read any chapter that you require, in your preferred order, as the time requires.

I blog about this book often.  I do so because it changed my life when spirit was summoning me to change with the seasons.  I have referred to it for over 20 years.  I also share it because I believe that, though many will be skeptical, there are some who will be receptive to reading it.  My hope is that their lives will be changed as mine has been.

Here is a note that I planned to send to my nephew, who is incarcerated, that I wrote inside of the book cover.  Somehow, I never mailed the book to him.  But my note describes how I felt about the book years ago.  I feel even stronger about the seven spiritual principles today.

Quote

The source of all creation is pure consciousness…pure potentiality seeking expression from the unmanifest to the manifest.

And when realize that our true Self is one of pure potentiality, we align with the power that manifests everything in the universe.  – Deepak Chopra – The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

The book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, authored by Deepak Chopra, in 1994 is a practical guide to the fulfillment of our dreams.  The book could be called The Seven Spiritual Laws of Life.  These are the same principles that nature follows to create everything in material existence.  Everything we see, hear, smell, taste, and touch is governed by these laws.  We too are governed by these seven laws.

I’ve had Seven Spiritual Laws since it was printed, and I’ve read it several times, it’s a quite easy book to read. It’s less than 100 pages. And in the end, the book asks that you pass this book around and give it to other people.  I’ve done so since 1994. I know that I’ve passed it out in Africa, Europe, Central America, the Caribbean, and all over the United States.

I guess, If you wanted to better understand my writing and perspective, by reading this book, it would become much clearer to you. These laws are not religious laws of the Bible or of the Koran, however, they don’t conflict with the Holy Koran or the Holy Bible. They accentuate it, but they strip out a lot of the characterizations, scripture, and verses, though, you will find occasionally Deepak will mention the holy books to show that it correlates with what the Bible says, or what the Koran says.

This is why I like it so much.  Because it is so far-reaching, more people can understand it and relate to it without conflicting with their religious beliefs.

The Law of Pure Potentiality says that our eternal state is in our spiritual essence.  It states that our essential nature is pure potentiality, a potential seeking manifestation of our desires.  It states that underlining all life is this one pervasive spirit that affects all life.  That is God’s spirit.  All that lives exist in this spirit and nothing is separated from it.

But we have to be in God’s field to receive blessings.  To receive the spirit of potentiality we must be connected to it, to its vibrations.  I was explaining to a friend that this connecting to the field of pure potentiality is like tuning a radio dial. When you’re turning that dial you may get heavy metal, talk radio, or sports.  But when you turn it ever so slightly, you get this really clear signal. This really clear frequency.  It just comes through very, absolutely clear.  Well, that is what we are trying to do to reach this field of pure potentiality.  We are the radio and the dial, and we’re trying to tune ourselves into this very subtle quiet where there are no thoughts, noise, or distractions.

Photo – Ben Whit – Unsplash

The first step is learning how to access it.  And the only way that we can access the field of pure potentiality is that we have to access it as our true selves.  Accessing our true self means that our reference point is our spirit.

Our spirit or self-reference point is not like object type reference.  Self-referral is what it’s called in the book, which is the opposite of an object referral. This is a referral when we are influenced by objects outside of ourselves.

Object referral has an intense need to control things. It has a need for approval. And object referral is based on fear.

We cannot access our true self if our reference point is objects which are outside of ourselves.  We need to have self-referral to access the field of pure potentiality.  With self-referral, there is the absence of fear. There’s no compulsion to control things, no struggle for improvement to please others or struggle for power.

With object-referral is our internal reference point is our egos.  In other words, with object-referral, we are our ego-self.  It is not who you really are, though.  It’s a role and it’s a mask that we wear.  And that mask strives for approval and it’s sustained by power because it lives in fear.

Our true self is our spirit, and it is free from all of these things, it is immune to criticism or to challenge.  It feels beneath no one, but it’s not above anyone.  Self-referral is permanent. Object referral is temporary because it’s supported by objects outside of us like money, jobs, title, and it will only last as long as those things are present. But self-referral draws people to us, and it draws our dreams and desires to us.  It magnetizes people, places, things, situations, and circumstances to support our dreams.

Now to enjoy the law, a pure potentiality. You must access it. And to access it, one of the first of four steps in the law of pure potentiality is to practice silence.

Step 1 – Practice Silence

Let’s deal with silence first.  To access the field of pure potentiality we must make a commitment to practice just being.  We need to take time out of our regular routine to withdraw from speech.  Also, from TV, listening to music, or reading a book. If we do not give ourselves silence, then we will be turbulent.  We can’t access the field of pure potentiality when we’re turbulent.

Step 2 – Practice Meditation

A second way is through meditation. In silent meditation, everything is connected to everything. And in silent meditation, we’re in our spiritual self, our true self.  In meditation we can faintly release our intentions and our desires, then our intentions and desires will be like a pebble dropping into a pond.  They will ripple and multiply.  If you try to access the field without meditation, when there’s turbulence, and without silence, it will be like throwing the Empire State Building into a pond.  It won’t ripple. It’ll just become more turbulence.

In silent meditation, while we’re connected to our pure spirit, is when we should release intentions, but not with words.  …Almost not with thoughts. It’s awfully hard to explain.  But we just be. In the Bible, there is a quote that says, be still and know that I am God. Meditation accomplishes this because the field of pure potentiality is God’s spirit. It is the pervasive spirit that sustains all life.  In silent meditation, we are immersed in God’s spirit.

Step 3 – Practice Nonjudgment

Now, the third aspect of the law of pure potentiality is practicing nonjudgment.  Judgment is deciding what’s good, what’s bad, what’s right, what’s wrong.  Again, when we judge, we create turbulence.  Nonjudgment creates silence in the mind.  This silence gives us access to the gap between our thoughts, that gap between what we think about is very fertile. That gap is connected to pure potentiality.  It is connected to God, spirit, and our true self.

Judgment restricts us from the field of pure potentiality, but nonjudgmental, silence, and meditation gives us access to the field.

Step 4 – Connect With Nature

The fourth aspect is to interact with nature.

I explained this as well on a podcast, that unlike nature, mankind, or humankind has free will. We don’t always have to be in the field of pure potentiality because we can choose not to be.  But nature has no free will, it is always connected to the field of pure potentiality.

Connecting with nature gives us a connection to the forces of life.  It gives us a connection to God, and it gives us unity with all life.

I ground a lot where I’m walking barefoot on the earth to get the frequencies from the core of the Earth. I sit by trees; I commune with nature.  And, living in beautiful Colorado, that’s quite easy to do. But you could go to a stream, a forest, a lake, or seashore and establish your connection with nature’s or God’s intelligence. The more we are tuned into nature, to the mind of nature, the more we will access infinite, unbound creativity.

Summary

To summarize, the law of potentiality is a field.  It’s a frequency that connects all life.  We’re immersed in it but because of our free will, we allow objects outside of us to govern our lives, we allow our ego to govern our lives, and things that happen outside of us distract us from God.  These are the very things that keep us disconnected.  An object-referral or ego-based referral is governed by fear, by power, by judgment. Object referral distances from our pure potential.  The alternative and the better approach to connecting us to the field of pure potentiality is for us to operate from a perspective of self-referral, knowing our true self, our true essence, our spirit.  But, in order to access this vibration, we must be silent. We have to make a commitment to withdraw from speech and TV and reading a book and all other distractions, the distractions of life that separate us from our potential.

We also need to meditate because when we meditate, we’re connected to pure spirit, and we’re able to faintly release our intentions and our desires in that calm state.

The third step would be not to judge.  Make a commitment, not to judge. Because when we judge, we create turbulence.

So, with silence meditation, non-judgment, and connecting with nature, we may access the field of pure potentiality.  It’s almost like the saying that says you can judge a person by their friends.  Well, we should make nature of our friends, because it will influence our spirit.  Nature is already connected to pure potentiality.  It’s already connected to God.

And when we put these four steps together, we will reach our desires, and our dreams will be fulfilled.

Personally, I’ve been practicing this for, I don’t know, 30 years or so. I notice that when I’m out of meditation, some of the abilities to separate from ego and to be immune to criticism, immune to judgment, not worrying about the approval of others, and all of these things come quite naturally. But as you practice this over and over, it will become easier and easier.

Now, what I’m going to do now is to read. At the end of each chapter in this book, it tells us how to practice the laws, how to put it into everyday practice, and I’ll read this to you.  It’s like a covenant that you make with yourself.  I make mine with myself and with God.

Putting the Law into Practice – Your Personal Covenant With God

  • I will put the law of pure potentiality into effect by making a commitment to take the following steps.
  • I will get in touch with the field of pure potentiality by taking time each day to be silent, to just be.
  • I will also sit alone and silent meditation.
  • I will take time each day to commune with nature and to silently witness the intelligence of everything that’s living.
  • I will sit silently and watch a sunset or I will listen to the sound of the ocean or stream or simply smell the scent of a flower in the ecstasy of my own silence.
  • And by communing with nature, I will enjoy the life throb of ages, the field of pure potentiality, and unbounded creativity.
  • I will practice nonjudgment, I would begin my day with a statement today, I shall judge nothing that occurs and throughout the day I will remind myself not to judge.

The Spiritual Law of Pure Potentiality Review

  1. We are pure consciousness, pure potential in our eternal state our spiritual essence. We are seeking this potential to manifest into that which we desire.  Our essential nature is pure potentiality
  2. Underlining all of life is one pervasive spirit – That is God’s spirit. This is where the field of pure potentiality resides.  All that lives exists in this spirit – There is no separation.
  3. But we must learn to access it. We can only access it, as our true self.  Accessing our true self means that our reference point is our spirit, Self-referral, not referring to the objects of our experience, Object referral.  Object referral is the opposite of self-referral.  With object referral, we are influenced by objects outside of ourselves.  Object referral has an intense need to control things and the need for approval.  With object referral, our needs are based on fear.
  4. Self-referral there is the absence of fear, with no compulsion to control things, and with no struggle for approval or power. Object referral your internal reference point is our ego.  Our ego is not who we really are.  It is simply a role we play or a mask that we wear.  This mask strives for approval and is sustained by power because it lives in fear.
  5. Our true self is our spirit. It is free from all distracting objects.  It is immune to criticism or challenge.  Feels beneath no one but is not above anyone.  Object referral is temporarily for it is supported by objects – Money, Power, job, title.  It will only last as long as those objects are present.  Self-Referral is permanent.  It draws people to you and your dreams and desires to you.  It magnetizes people, places, and things, situations, and circumstances to support your dreams.
  6. To enjoy the law of pure potentiality we must first learn to access it. Ways to accomplish this is through meditation, silence, nonjudgement, and spending time with nature.
  7. Practice Silence – Make a commitment to practice it by just being. Withdraw from speech, withdraw from TV, from listening to music, or reading a book.  If you do not give yourself silence, then you will be turbulent and unable to reach the field.
  8. Practice Meditation – In silent meditation – Everything is connected to everything. In silent meditation – While connected to pure spirit – faintly release your good intentions.  They will be like a pebble dropping into a pond, rippling small waves.  In the bible it says, Be still and know that I am God – Meditation accomplishes this.
  9. Practice Non-Judgement – Judgment is the evaluation of what is Good, Bad, right or wrong. When judging we create turbulence.  Nonjudgment creates silence in our mind and gives us access.  Judgment restricts us from the field of pure potentiality.
  10. Nonjudgement, Silence, and Meditation gives access to the field of pure potentiality.
  11. Connect With Nature – This gives us a connection to the forces of life (God). Gives you unity with all life.  A stream, forest, mountain, lake, or seashore will connect us with nature’s/God’s intelligence and will help us access the field of pure potentiality.  The more tuned in we are to the mind of nature, the more we have access to infinite, unbound creativity.

Steps To Implementing The Law

To embody the law there are three important covenants that you must make with yourself and with God.  You must accept that you may not reach perfection on each of these promises, but you must commit to forever try to.

Commune with nature – This is very important because nature is intrinsically connected to God. God subtly communicates and thinks for nature.  It is critical that we become immersed in this exchange.  For me it is as simple as taking a hike on a nature trail, soaking in natural hot springs, or just sitting under a tree while reflecting, meditating, and praying.  I also like to connect with the Earth by walking barefoot on grass and soil.

Practice Non-Judgement – We all judge no matter how many times we read the Bible or say clichés against it. Some are as simple as who we may sit next to on public transit.  In other more brutal cases, we judge others by their appearance, wealth, education, and skin color.  Judging is resisting the universe as God created it.  It takes away our energy and ultimately separates us from the field of pure potentiality.  I am learning to see those people, places, and things that are different than I am as tools for discovering my uniqueness, and therefore finding my true self.  I use opportunities to judge instead, as opportunities to clearly define who I am, but distinguishing who I am not.

Silence, Meditation, and Prayer – See meditation and prayer as listening and speaking to God, respectively. The most valuable aspects of meditation and prayer are that it requires a peaceful mind and tranquility.  To achieve the optimal level of calm we must surrender.  To surrender is to denounce the ego’s power.  The ego separates us from God and the field, therefore pray and meditate often.  My meditation and prayer periods are most wonderful, namely because I combine these rituals with other protocols.  I meditate in mineral and essential oil baths, while in nature while doing moxibustion or acupuncture, and while soaking in a jacuzzi, sauna or natural hot springs.  In every case, my meditation and prayer extravaganza reset my spiritual clock, and ‘clean my slate’.

The Law of Pure Potentiality Relative to the Other Spiritual Laws

This is where I deviate a bit from Deepak’s book.  I place the Law of Pure Potentiality last simply because I do not believe that one can reach this spiritual plateau without adhering to all of the other laws.

Before I was able to reach the realm, I had a significant amount of soul searching and spirit work to do.  This resurrection of spirit took me through a deep examination of each of the other laws: Detachment, Giving & Receiving, Intention & Desire, Least Effort, Dharma, and Karma, leading me ultimately to abide by these principles.

After years of living according to these six principles, I could feel that I was changing.  I could feel my world, my thoughts, ideas, creativity, and affluence popping in my life ‘like water drops on hot grease’.  I embraced miracles, the impossible, and defying odds, and I did.

Through abiding by the principles, I live according to a higher vibration than most and had my share of encounters with others whose energy clashed with mine, often for no apparent reason.  They clearly knew ‘something was different’ about me, and I felt it too.

Living according to the Seven Laws of Spiritual Success for several years, along with facing seemingly insurmountable challenges, were key elements to my spiritual transformation.

The Other Six Laws of Spiritual Success

Here is a recap of the other six spiritual laws.  They are obviously in a different order than is presented in the book.  I feel that you must progress on the second through seventh laws presented before moving the Pure Potentiality.  The good thing about the book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, is that you can read it in any order and as many times as you desire.

LAW OF DHARMA – The Law of Dharma refers to one’s duty in this life. Your dharma varies according to your class, your family, and the time of your life.

Here are the 3 Components of the Law of Dharma

To live ‘Dharmically’ you must first discover your spiritual self. This is your true self.  This requisite is important because divine spirit defined our purpose and leads us to fulfill it.  Our ego-self will be misguided by money, control, and notoriety.  Our spirit self-will calibrates us in the direction that God wants us to go.  Meet the spiritual version of you through meditation and prayer, regularly.

Then, with this spiritual sense of yourself reflect on your talents and the things that you enjoy. Think about the things on which others repeatedly compliment you.  What about those hobbies, tasks, or projects that cause you to lose your sense of time, what are they?  Your Dharma will lie somewhere in this reflection.  Ask God for the answer.

The most important aspect of Dharma is evolving from ego or self-reference to one of compassion for others. When solidifying your Dharma, it has to meet one final test before it becomes official.  You must ask yourself, ‘Given my spiritual growth, and acknowledged special talents, how can I use this talent to help others?”

LAW OF KARMA – The Law of Karma is NOT an eye-for-an-eye type of petty justice, but rather is a divine intelligence which governs and guides.  This divine intelligence keeps a constant watch over all our deeds good and bad.

The Law of Karma is NOT an eye-for-an-eye type of petty justice, but rather is a divine intelligence which governs and guides.  This divine intelligence keeps a constant watch over all our deeds good and bad.

“I see the law of Karma the way I look at banking.  I make as many deposits as possible, and few withdrawals from the Karmic Bank.  Eventually, my balance increases, and I’m paid with dividends and interest.” – Kevy Michaels

LAW OF INTENTION AND DESIRE – The Law of Intention and Desire asks that we make a list of all our desires and carry this list with us wherever we go. Look at this list before going into silence and meditation. Look at it before you go to sleep at night. Look at it when you wake up in the morning.

The Law of Intention and Desire asks that we make a list of all our desires and carry this list with us wherever you go. Look at this list before going into silence and meditation.  Look at it before going to sleep at night. Look at it when I wake up in the morning.  We are whatever our deepest desire is. Whatever we concentrate on and give our energy to most passionately, is a manifestation of who we are, and what our life becomes. Therefore, it is important to clearly identify what you want. Reflect on, write down, and proclaim, that which you want within relationships, achievement, creative expression, spirituality, and purpose.

But it is important to first understand the difference between Intentions and Desires, before this suggestion can be put into practice, with any confidence.  Desire is simple. It is what we want, such as a car, a new job, a new house, etc. It is our goal that can clearly be checked off when accomplished.  Intention deals with how you want to feel when your desires are achieved.  It requires examining that feeling, to ensure that it is in alignment with universal love, which is God. The two work together and will not work if separated. You will not achieve a desire that is ‘good’, without ensuring that your Intentions for that desire are established.

“Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment . . . intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite organizing power. And when we introduce an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing power to work for us.” – Deepak Chopra

“All that counts in life is intention.” – Andrea Bocelli

LAW OF GIVING – The Law of Giving and Receiving states that the universe is in a constant state of exchange and flow, and that Giving and Receiving works within this constant state of exchange. They both expend on the outward flow of each other.  Giving and Receiving are actually contrasting aspects of the same energy flow.  One should not be separated from the other.

The Law of Giving and Receiving states that the universe is in a constant state of exchange and flow, and that Giving and Receiving works within this constant state of exchange.  They both expend on the outward flow of each other.  Giving and Receiving are actually contrasting aspects of the same energy flow.  One should not be separated from the other.

“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” – Luke 6:38

LAW OF DETACHMENT – The law requires surrender, which is one of my favorite virtues. This surrender requires that our egos and our thinking do not have the power to shape our destinies. Our egos control nothing! Only God does.  with detachment, we are not startled to figure it all out, because uncertainty is built in our plan. That being understood, we adapt to forks in the road and don’t get our panties all in a wad.

“The Spiritual Law Of Detachment does not mean detaching from life itself. It simply means that you detach from outcomes, and trust that God will handle that part.” – Kevy Michaels

LAW OF LEAST EFFORT – This law states that you will attain those things that you desire when you put the least effort into attaining them. This sounds nonsensical, I know. But the law makes a lot of sense when you dig deeper.

It does not mean that you can be lazy and sit on your seat cushions, and that blessing will knock on the door and say, “It is I. I am here to bless you”. You certainly need to work hard to overcome your challenges and to reach your goals, but what is more powerful than work alone, is harnessing the powers of God and the universe.

In harnessing this energy, we will expel less foolishly. When striving to reach a goal, simply put, get closer to God, and further away from directly challenging the obstacle before you.

Nature’s intelligence functions with effortless ease . . . with carefreeness, harmony, and love. And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease.

  • Requirement 1 – Acceptance: Accept things as they are at this moment.
  • Requirement 2 – Take Responsibility – Don’t Blame – Transform The Situation
  • Requirement 3 – Stay Established in Defenselessness – Don’t Try To Persuade – Be Open

“This rule requires that I make the compromise and not fight what is before my eyes and accept it, so that, ‘in spite of’, may still I will rise.” – Kevy Michaels

  1. Hi. I hope you don’t mind me using your post to welcome you as you’ve just started following my blog. Really great to share the journey with you as I seek meaning and comment on life as I do so. Wic

    1. Please send the link. But also include a brief bio excerpted from your blog site. I would like to feature you and your post as opposed to just Sharing it. Kevy. Send to kevymichaelscontent@gmail.com just the way you want to be presented. Take your time, but let me know by comment when it has been sent. Thanks. May you be blessed exceedingly. Kevy

      1. Kevy, thanks for the opportunity. Made me smile😎 I’ll take sometime to read through your blog and get a ‘feel’ so I can share something appropriate. Will email when done. Have the best of days.

      2. Don’t focus too much on what may be appropriate from my point of view. I encourage dialogue from all points of view…from all perspectives of Life & of Spirit. Unfortunately, most people are shy to put in writing views that may be different from others. As a result, we don’t have important conversations that we need to. Send whatever post that fully expresses how you feel about anything. May God bless you. Kevy

      3. Wic I am now working on sharing your post. I am really excited. I apologize for the delay, but some days I get drained from media. I am working on a lot of simultaneous projects. We are on a simular vibe….even in music taste. I will include What You Are Listening To. Who is Pogue? Regards, Kevy

  2. I’m going to return to this book, I’m excited to read it thoroughly. Reading this blog post feels like divine intervention. I am so happy and grateful to be connected to another awakened human being, this is my desire to be transformed daily.

    1. I love this book! I read it all the time and often carry it with me.

What I like is that Deepak reveals that we have limitless power by accessing Divine vibration, accessing God.

It is far above religious rhetoric, disception, and fear.

Through this book I’ve learned how to live as a spirit and see people & and things as spirits. I am now not as easily deceived or distracted.

…Not even by Racial Injustice, COVID19, Trump, or anything.

      Thanks for your comments.

Do return to The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success over and over.
      Warm Regards
      Kevy
