Here is a collection of songs and videos that I selected for my friends to clear your mind and set you off confidently to complete the rest of this week. I personally selected these songs for that purpose and attempted to eliminate any deflating messages and images, as best I could.
As I mentioned, I am very protective of what I allow into my psyche. You should find that these songs are psyche-safe. Some of the artists may be familiar, while others may be relatively new. They cover various genres, but I have an affinity to reggae and trap gospel, so it is well represented.
The selection is varied enough that everyone should at least find one song (or more) that inspires their day.
We must work at maintaining focus, strength, and clarity in today’s times. It won’t just come unless we put in the work, as is in this case, with theme music. I believe that new era prophets will use music, poetry, rhyme, and creativity to combat human disregard and destruction.
Listen and Dance Because It’s good for the Body Mind & Soul
“A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;” – Ecclesiastes 3:4
To make it a spiritual experience, let us all dance in celebration of feeling Gratitude and Love For Yourself.
Why not? There’s an endless list of things for which we are grateful. The list of what makes you beautiful should be nearly endless, as well. Think up your lists while you listen and dance. Dance to these inspiring songs will lead you along.
While listening, also reflect on the year that is nearly at its end, and visualize the future that you desire in 2019 and beyond. What will not make the cut in 2019? What will you ignite in 2019? This music provided animated music for listening reflection and celebration dancing.
“The dance is a poem of which each movement is a word.” – Mata Hari
Though we have free will, there are always the consequences to the choices we make. Well, it seems we’re good here with dancing, for nothing bad comes out of dancing and listening to music. It’s a joyous exercise of mind, body, and spirit.
Music and dancing, just like crying, laughing, and nutrition are part of a larger holistic healing whole. Music and dancing are like supplements for your spirit, body, and mind. Music and dancing have been associated with the health benefits, identified in the Dr. Axe post below.

So in honor this impromptu celebration of you, just as you do the holiday season so that you can justify a good shake and dance today.
While shaking your groove thing, keep in mind specific things for which you are Grateful at the moment, and dance your heart out like you want to show God just how grateful you truly are. Reflect on all that you wish to take with you on your journey into the new year. Elate in visions of your goals, and inevitable accomplishment.
“Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.” – Jeremiah 31:13
I am no longer a very good dancer, but I am a damn good rocker. I might get arrested by the dance police if I danced in public, so I do it privately, as I suggest that you do. This is a personal party.
Besides, if you are like me, you may not be able to fathom learning the new moves kids do today. I have yet to learn dances of many years gone by.
Besides, Id’ look like a damn fool, my old ass, trying to keep up.
“Never give a sword to a man who can’t dance.” – Confucius
But I’m a gangster of dance on the shower dancefloor! Maybe that is where you should listen and dance this morning, in the shower.
That’s my new spot, where I have no inhibitions…in my wet nakedness. I love dancing in the mirror when getting dressed too. Then I psyche myself into thinking that I’m a ‘player player’.
But no one but me gets to see me dance. In public, it might be comical. But, one day I am going to put on some skinny jeans, declare it as my Celebratory Day of Dance, go to a dance bar, and show them, young folks, a move or two.
…Probably just make a damn fool of myself.
But they won’t know that I’m dancing in the spirit of Self-Love & Gratitude. I will, and God will.
“Let your life lightly dance on the edges of Time like dew on the tip of a leaf.” – Rabindranath Tagore
Here is an inspiring music mix for you to get your dance on, in the shower, while dressing, or anytime.
Don’t forget to dance in honor of how beautiful you are, and in honor of that for which you are grateful.
“If you want to release your aggression, get up and dance. That’s what rock and roll is all about.” – Chuck Berry
Video Playlist – To Inspire U Through Da Week Playlist
These are hand-picked video songs, chosen just for you. The music genres include Pop, Reggae, Trap Gospel, R&B, Electronic, and Rock and Roll.
Do not be intimidated by the list of songs and artists. Many songs and artists on the list I’ve never heard of until today. But that is the nature of music today. Everyone is getting a contract these days and older artist seem to be falling by the wayside.
But in spite of dramatic changes in the quality and message of today’s popular music, I was able to find several good songs.
Note: I tried my best to filter out songs with offensive language and messages, but something may have slipped through. Hell, I can’t figure out what the artist is saying, singing and rapping through electronic devices. I do not mean to offend. I aim to inspire.
Here is the playlist, but not played in this specific order. Enjoy! Get that dopamine pumping!

A recent study by researcher Jacob Jolij and student Maaike Meurs of the Psychology Department of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands shows that music has a dramatic effect on explanatory style and perception. Jolij and Meurs had their test subjects perform a task in which they had to identify happy and sad ‘smiley icons’ while listening to happy or sad music. Music turned out to have a great influence on what the subjects perceived. Interestingly, even when a ‘neutral face’ with no smiley was shown, the subjects often thought they recognized a happy smiley when listening to happy music and a sad one when listening to sad music.
