“The experience the Self or “self-referral”, means that our internal reference point is our own spirit, and not the objects of our experience. – Deepak Chopra – Washington Post
The spiritual Law of Pure Potentiality requires that we reach our essential state of pure consciousness. The field of pure potentiality is an abundant spiritual influence, and in our essential state, we become our spiritual selves and are therefore granted access to God’s horn of plenty.
The law of Pure Potentiality recognizes that there is one divine spirit that connects us all, including nature, in spite of our seemingly infinite diversity. The only thing that separates us from the field is not knowing or experiencing our true nature, not embracing God in us all.
Discovering our soul should be our greatest desire for in this discovery, we are granted access to healing, wisdom, virtue, and many blessings, in the field of pure potentiality.
Experiencing and knowing our true self is critical to the law. Our reference point must be on our own spirit, not anything external to us. This is important because it requires relinquishing control from our egos, and seeking God within us. This lens connects us to the God of the universe.
This means that our life experiences should never be influenced by objects outside the Self, such situations, circumstances, people, and things, seeking approval of others, or response to our every action. Living this way fear-based. Living in fear never has beneficial consequences. Living in fear is like living without trusting God.
In self-referral, we become unfearful of any challenge, have respect for all people, but feel beneath no one. Self-power is therefore true power. Power based on object-referral (external things), however, is false power.
Self-power is eternal because it is based on the knowledge of the Self. It will draw people to you, as well as the things that you desire. It magnetizes people, situations, and circumstances to support your desires.
“This is also called support from the laws of nature. It is the support of divinity; it is the support that comes from being in the state of grace. Your power is such that you enjoy a bond with people, and people enjoy a bond with you. Your power is that of bonding – a bonding that comes from true love.” – Deepak Chopra
Deepak Chopra’s Seven Laws of Spiritual Success
I held off for some time before completing the series on The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, a life-changing book by Deepak Chopra that I first read about 20 years ago. This book is my favorite spiritual guidance go-to! I have read it several times and have distributed copies to people around the world. I can say that I strive to live by each of the seven principles in this book.
I highly recommend that you read this book several times, as I have. Also give a copy to others, perhaps during the holidays.
There are some chapters that may be challenging to fully understand the first time around, but as you progress on your spiritual path, they will become clearer to you.
The Law of Pure Potentiality states that:
“The source of all creation is pure consciousness . . . pure potentiality seeking expression from the unmanifest to the manifest. And when we realize that our true Self is one of pure potentiality, we align with the power that manifests everything in nature.” – Deepak Chopra
To embody the law there are three important covenants that you must make with yourself and with God. You must accept that you may not reach perfection on each of these promises, but you must commit to forever try to.
- Commune with nature – This is very important because nature is intrinsically connected to God.
- Practice Non-Judgement – We all judge no matter how many times we read the Bible or say clichés against it. Judging is resisting the universe as God created it. It takes away our energy and ultimately separates us from the field of pure potentiality.
Meditation and Prayer – See meditation and prayer as listening and speaking to God, respectively. The most valuable aspects of meditation and prayer are that it requires a peaceful mind and tranquility.
It Is Very Hard To Describe – Pure Potentiality Analogies
It is very difficult to impossible to describe the spirit, God, and the field of pure potentiality. That’s because it is a personal cathartic feeling that only you know is real, but that you are unable to fully explain to others. Often, trying to explain it will earn you labels as weird, crazy, or coo-coo. …Or as they say in New Orleans, ‘Crazy as a Bessie bug’.
Don’t get too hung up on what people think of you. You must get over concern about how others feel about you if you are ever to embrace your true self, your relevance, and your irrelevance. If you get caught up worrying about others’ opinions of you, you will allow them to block you from this powerful life-igniting field.
What we experience as divine is formulated by our culture, rearing, history, victories, failures, memories, and emotions. These aspects of our being are unique to everyone. We will never agree, from the onset. Additionally, our receptivity varies. It is nearly impossible to explain God, Spirit, or Pure Potentiality to someone, and I’m convinced that it always will be.
So, I decided to describe analogies on how the field of pure potentiality feels to me. Keep in mind that I am a visionary person who loves creativity and imagination. I give this disclaimer because my descriptions may be a bit too imaginative for some.
Infinity Truths: I regularly state in my writings that there is an infinity of realities. I also state that we disagree on different points of view as though one is right, and one is wrong when we are both right. Lastly, I often refer to vibrations or frequencies of God or divinity. The beliefs that support these statements are steeped in the Law of Pure Potentiality.
I believe that we all live in a variety of realms and they are all very real to us, because that belief is real, in the realm in which it dwells.
But, in other realms or vibrations, those truths may not be true for others. For example, two terminally ill cancer patients can have diametrically different outcomes, based on the vibration in which they dwell in cancer. One may die, just as they expected, while the other may beat cancer, just as they expected. …. two realities at the same time.
The field of Pure Potentiality works much the same way. It is always there. …A state where all good things flow abundantly.
There is also a real state, actually an infinity of states, where bad things flow. They both exist at the same time.
The Law of Pure Potentiality simply states that by stripping down to our true essences, our true self, we will be better equipped to access this field. Without bearing our egos and eliminating our fixation on the external, we will exist in a field, but not the field of Pure Potentiality.
Here are some analogies:
Treading water: It is like when we maintain afloat in water that we are treading. We must work at maintaining that float or we will sink to the bottom. Being ‘in the realm’ requires constant attention and observation. Just like wading in the water, we must wade through distraction that may block our access to ‘the field of potentiality’.
Normalizing Sound Volume: In post-production video editing, you must also pay attention to sound to ensure that it is consistent throughout the full video presentation. In doing so, you must pick the number of decibels to normalize to. Once this number is selected, all sound is normalized by ensuring that nothing goes outside of the selected decibel. In audio post-production, you also focus on frequencies that you wish to amplify and accentuate. This is the same way that we must calibrate through life experiences to gain and maintain access to the field of pure potentiality.
Earth Having Rings: Imagine if you will that planet Earth has concentric rings around it like Saturn, but many more. …Sort of like the banner photo on the Part 1 post. Now, imagine that the outer ring represents ‘ignorant bliss’, and the innermost ring represents ‘pure potentiality’. Your goal in this scenario is to get to the innermost ring to realize all the possibilities that you desire. However, you must make it past all the other rings. This will be a challenge because the other rings represent all the other realities that people believe. And, they really believe in them and want you to join their world. But in doing so, you may never reach your full potential.
Anti-gravity: Imagine being in an anti-gravity machine with 5lb weights safety-pinned to your jumpsuit. The weights represent dishonesty, fear, worry, doubt, hopelessness, ego, and other external references. In order to float against gravity, you will have to drop each of those weights to maintain equilibrium.
With regard to two cancer patients that I mentioned earlier, one was persuaded towards a reality of hopelessness and death, and they reached it. They died as they expected. The other cancer patient was more like I am. They took a road less traveled on to the innermost ring of pure potentiality, where healing, joy, hope, and tranquility existed. They live on vibrantly!

Kevy’s Challenges With The Law
I am challenged with the judgment aspect of applying this law but strive every day to grow spiritually in this area.
I do not judge blindly, though. I am nonjudgmental on nearly any lifestyle, opinion, or ethnicity: Straight, Gay, Trans, White, Black, Spanish, Asian, Elderly, Youth, Flamboyant, Subtle, Conservative, Liberal, etc.
But I am challenged in being nonjudgmental of those who have lied or deceived me, or who are untruthful in general. I clearly judge them because I can no longer trust them and prefer to never interact with them again.
Though I am well on my spiritual path, I still consider myself spiritually fragile. Therefore, I am protective of myself when it comes to those with whom I am surrounded. And, I cannot get myself to even desire to be around betrayers.
I know that I must do work in this area because I don’t feel bad about judging this group. I exempt them from not being judged and feel that I am still abiding by the spiritual law. I don’t feel that they are worthy.
I don’t know how to reconcile this. It will take time to do so. Many have screwed me, and I feel bad that I trusted them.
There is one exception to my not judging those who fall into this group. Though very few of my betrayers have ever done so, I do give an exception when a betrayer admits to their wrongful deeds and apologizes. I boast in admiration of them for doing so. I make this exception because I know how deep one must go to admit to their wrongs and apologize to those who they may have harmed.
Outside of this exception, for those who vehemently and knowingly stick to living a life of lies and deceit, I am judgmental.
As for other aspects of this law, namely meditation, prayer, and communing with nature, I am solid.
Kevy’s Field of Pure Potentiality Experience
I never really practiced the first Law of Pure Potentiality like a regiment, as described in the book. Simply as a result of following the other six spiritual laws, I sort of gravitated into the field of Pure Potentiality. Sure, I meditated intensely, communed with nature, and practiced non-judgment, but these steps alone did not lead me to pure potentiality. I entered this field by following all of the laws.
I practiced the other laws first, then found myself transported to the field of Pure Potentiality. This is why I place it last on the list. The other six laws poised me to gloriously receive the first.
I especially love that I will never live these laws perfectly. It’s just like attempting to get close to God, but only being able to get ‘closer’. I think that it’s good, though. Never getting there keeps me moving forward as opposed to resting on my laurels.
I will always have something on which to improve. For me, practicing non-judgment on those who have betrayed me is where I must improve. The spiritual work that I must do in this area will only make this dynamic adventure more exciting.
Along with learning new things, as I change, and as I evolve, it will become a three-dimensional spiritual process. This experience has become the most wonderful adventure of my life.
The Law of Pure Potentiality is my dearest of Deepak’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.
3 Of The Other Six Laws of Spiritual Success
Here is a recap of three of the spiritual laws that I’ve covered so far. They are obviously in a different order than is presented in the book. I feel that you must progress on the second through seventh laws presented before moving the Pure Potentiality. The good thing about the book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, is that you can read it in any order and as many times as you desire.
If you follow each of the laws below, including finding and striving to sustain your life in a vibration of pure potentiality, you will be poised for a joyful life.
That’s where you want to be, in the field of pure potentiality!
LAW OF LEAST EFFORT – This rule requires that we make compromises and not fight what is before our eyes accepting it, so that, ‘in spite of’, we may still rise.
Kevy’s 2nd – Deepak’s 4th – Law of Least Effort:
This rule requires that we make compromises and not fight what is before our eyes accepting it, so that, ‘in spite of’, we may still rise.
- Accept things as they are at this moment.
- Take responsibility – don’t blame – transform the situation.
- Stay established in defenselessness – don’t try to persuade – be open
“If we observe nature at work, we see that the least effort is expended. Grass doesn’t try to grow; it just grows. Fish don’t try to swim; they just swim. This is their intrinsic nature. It is the nature of the sun to shine. And it is human nature to make our dreams manifest into physical form — easily and effortlessly. What is commonly called a “miracle” is actually an expression of the Law of Least Effort.” – Deepak Chopra
Kevy’s 5th – Deepak’s 6th – Law of Detachment:
The Law of Detachment simply states that with good intentions and desires, we should pursue our dreams, but must be detached from the outcome, letting the universe or God deliver to us what we are due.
“In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty . . . in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning.
And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe.” – Deepak Chopra
