“The music of the Gospel leads us home.” – Frederick W. Faber
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.” – James 5:13
“There is a sound that comes from gospel music that doesn’t come from anything else. It is a sound of peace. It is a sound of, ‘I’m going to make it through all of this.” – Yolanda Adams
I’m not able to attend church services much because I work most Sundays. But I also don’t attend because I don’t see the necessary of getting too intimate with organized religions, based on my experiences as a congregant, an observer, and in supporting church activities (being part of the church).
In some cases in my life the least spiritually obedient folks that I’ve met were the ones most active in the church. I will provide posts on what I call the spiritually bankrupt, in another post.
My point is that I feel that my connection with God is much stronger than the experiences of the same, as I seen in church. I don’t need the extra layer between me, and access to God.
But I love the energy, music, and exaltation that I’ve seen particularly in Baptist church choirs and in Gospel music. It is a staple while on my journey.
I am not loyal to any particular religion, though. My loyalty lies in my personal relationship with God, though I have attended many different types of religious services. Clearly the bone chilling aspect of Gospel music moves me most.
I especially love listening to Gospel in the mornings, after prayer and meditation, as I prepare to begin each day.
We are at the doorsteps of Sunday, and Monday morning. It is my hope that someone is inspired by the music videos posted below to start your days ahead.
Good for you for not being hung up on any particular traditional spiritual path — and good for you again for appreciating the good each has to offer!
If you ever wish to share any compatible posts, I would be honored to feature you and your blog. Luv Kevy
Well! Most kind! I’m not well — won’t ever be that in CA in the ground level dust, but have found ways to bring it under control, so new works come but may come slower…
Hey! You know what? Actually, THAT would be a compatible post, because all those methods are organic. On it next, boss 😎
Okay, I got it written, but can’t use it in-theme on either of my blogs so must send direct — gotta email address?
