One Day I Will – Wisdom of Ages

“For nearly the past 20 years, I have been writing, often daily, to express joy, pain, wisdom, trials, and triumphs.” – Kevy Michaels

One Day I Will

By Kevy Michaels

One day I’ll finish this painting
I’ve been perfecting it for years

If the vision would just stop evolving
The final image would be clear

Though I try faithfully
To develop the image further

I become entranced
The image changes
And I’m transformed into the observer

Just like the song I’ll sing one day
I rehearse it all the time

Only God can hear it though
Because I sing it in my mind

I smiled yesterday
Pleased at what I had wrote

I thought that it was complete
Then God sent another
Harmonic note

Then there’s the story of my life
Full of pain and full of laughter

This book keeps getting longer
Each day reveals a new chapter

Many may never read it
But the message will still be heard

It may inspire at least one soul
Because my heart’s in each word

It will become a masterpiece I know
The Crown jewel of my legacy

I will celebrate placing the last period
But only when God summons me

Wisdom of Ages

By Kevy Michaels

With the wisdom of ages
In this moment
Now I understand
I understand
Who God is
I understand
Who I am

I understand pleading
For mercy
Like a victim
Senselessly shot
God led me
To my calling
By revealing
Who I’m not

Now I step differently
Head high
With pride in my walk
I’m still a lonely man
Though I’ve touched
Many hearts

God gave me this loneliness
About the same moment
He touched my hand
And since being
Immersed in his light
I’ve come to know
Just the man I am

When one experiences Transformation, as I have, they will experience the virtues of Inspiration, Hopefulness, Spirituality, Determination, Patience, Creativity, Healing, Prayer & Meditation, Self-Love, Communion With Nature, and Courage. – Kevy Michaels
